Momentum advises the shareholders of Ovofit-Group on the sale of Ovofit-Group to Eureden
Momentum advised the shareholders of OVOFIT Eiprodukte GmbH (“Ovofit”) and its affiliated companies on the sale to the French co-operative Eureden (“Eureden”) as part of a comprehensive succession solution.
Ovofit is a renowned German company specializing in the production and distribution of an extensive range of processed egg products and vegan egg replacement products. In doing so, Ovofit serves as a key supplier to major European customers in the areas of food service, catering, restaurants, gas station catering and bakeries, such as McDonald’s. Founded in 1971 by Mrs. Margit Kurz-Rothmaier’s parents, Mrs. Margit Kurz-Rothmaier has continuously developed Ovofit’s business. Ovofit’s mission today is the regional and sustainable production without the addition of flavor enhancers, colorants and artificial flavours. Ovofit employs 130 staff members and expects to achieve sales of around EUR 20 million in 2023.
Eureden is a co-operative agri-food group from Brittany, France, counting around 19,500 co-op farmers and 8,500 employees. Eureden’s vision is the production of healthy, responsible food for everybody, with an ongoing concern for meeting the expectations of consumers and society as a whole.
With the acquisition of Ovofit, Eureden implements its strategic plan to develop its egg products- division. Mrs. Kurz-Rothmaier remains with Ovofit as managing director and will accompany the transition with her extensive experience.
